Why I’m Broke and Still Buying Silver

In addition to running a few low-income blogs such as this, I have a part time job in the lovely world of tech support. I make enough money to pay my rent and expenses, and that’s about it. Anything left over usually goes to buying silver on eBay. I, like many across the world, am bracing for a dramatic shift from paper-based currencies to hard currencies such as gold or silver.  I don’t have a penny in a savings account right now, but I have scrimped and saved enough to amass over 62 ounces of silver in the form of bullion, US commemoratives, and 90% silver ‘junk’ coins. Worth less than $600 at today’s artificially deflated silver rates, I’m betting my little warchest could swell to over $5,000 when the silver manipulation is finally exposed and real demand begins to push the market.

Microsoft Subsidizing Silver - Huzzah!

Although it’s nearly impossible to get physical silver through official channels, Microsoft is once again coming to the rescue. In what will no doubt be seen as another historical blunder from the massive software giant, clever silver investors have been getting coins, bars, and rounds on the cheap, thanks to a head-scratching promotion launched in the summer by Microsoft. Dubbed it’s ‘live search cashback’ program, Microsoft has been giving away tens of thousands in subsidies for you and me to buy physical gold and silver. Yes, I’m serious.
